The Swing Sensei

The Swing Sensei ("the App") is a golf swing analysis app. All swing video analysis happens on your device. The App can be used without an account. If you choose to create an account, we collect a small amount of information to provide optional cloud features (backing up your swings across devices, and friends & leaderboards). We also use anonymous product analytics to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.

You can use the App without signing in. If you choose to create an account, we offer Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. When you sign in, we collect and store:
This information is stored securely using Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore (see Third-Party Services). It is used to operate your account, sync your data, power social features, and — if you opt in — send you occasional product updates and tips.

If you use the optional friends and leaderboard features, certain information becomes visible to other signed-in users:
You choose your own username, you control who you add as a friend, and you can remove friends, block users, or report inappropriate users at any time within the App.
If you create an account, we store your email address. With your consent (a toggle you can turn on or off at any time in the App under Account), we may send you occasional emails such as product updates and golf tips. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out anytime by turning off the toggle or contacting us. We do not sell your email address.
To understand how people use the App so we can improve it, we collect anonymous event data using PostHog, a third-party analytics service. This data is tied to a randomly generated identifier created on first launch. Events include things like when an analysis completes, when the paywall appears, when a purchase succeeds, or when a streak milestone is hit, along with non-identifying properties such as your swing score or whether you are a premium subscriber.
The App requests access to your photo library solely to allow you to select golf swing videos for analysis. Selected videos are processed on-device and are not uploaded, copied, or shared. The App does not modify your photo library.
If you grant notification permission, the App sends you local reminders — for example a daily drill suggestion or a streak reminder. These are scheduled and delivered on your device by iOS.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Account → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile, cloud swing data, username, friendships, and activity from our systems, and revokes the Sign in with Apple authorization where applicable. This action cannot be undone. You can also delete all on-device data by deleting the App.
The App uses the following third-party services:
The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID account. The App does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We retain your account information and cloud data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, this data is removed from our systems. Anonymous analytics data is retained in aggregate to help us improve the App.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
